The Long Run Update

As you know, Jon will be leaving us to pursue other ventures (a new job!).  I personally thank Jon for starting The Long Run Blog by kick starting something I have wanted to do for a long time.  Originally, Jon wondered if anyone would be interested and I immediately contacted him to affirm the idea and offer to participate.  As it turned out, we shared very similar visions for what we wanted to accomplish and saw eye-to-eye on many of the economic topics of the day.  TLRB was off and running (after a few startup issues).  Jon's reputation springboarded our start.

The blog's subtitle states we wish to apply critical thinking to financial matters.  Our original concept was to discuss not just economics and markets, but also tackle scams, frauds and other dubious money schemes.  We intended to address financial matters as it applies to individuals such as investing, insurance and other financial concepts too.  To all of these ends, TLRB will continue.

In fact, we are expanding.  A new blogger, Karl Mamer, will be joining us.  Karl is the creator and podcaster of The Conspiracy Skeptic.  If you are not familiar with his work, he has a lively, entertaining way of dissecting financial matters and is a master of analogies.  His style and contributions will no doubt broaden and enrich our offering.  Karl will be introducing himself shortly.

We are also looking for more bloggers and experts in financial matters, so please contact us if you or someone you know is interested.  And suggestions!  Please email us with suggestions and/or questions.  We can write about what tickles our fancy anytime, but addressing topics of interest to readers is even better.

Good luck, Jon.  We hope to have you back someday.  See you on the buy side!
